The Gen Y Workplace

Smart tech decisions in the workplace are critical, says Accenture’s Dan Johnson (center, whom we snapped with Convene president Chris Kelly and JLL’s Bernice Boucher). Many employees work from mobile devices and collaboration is video based. For its part, Accenture is considering moving some money it allocates from real estate to tech. Bernice adds that consulting has led the way in mobility, while finance has favored "presenteeism." (Well, it's easier to "show me the money" if "me" comes to the office.) A generational shift from attendance to performance is occurring, she says. Dan and Bernice were among the panelists at a Convene-hosted, workplace-design roundtable.
