Meet NAIOP’s Local Prez

New York Office
Placeholder

NAIOP NYC president Jay Fehskens of Atlas Capital tells us the association focuses on networking (he’s made not just local but national contacts), educational programs (like its Developing Leaders group), and advocacy (partnering with its Rochester and Westchester counterparts for a louder voice). Issues of concern include NY's archaic scaffolding laws, which place liability even for worker injuries on the landlord. The NYC chapter is 140 members strong, and Jay would like to double that in a year by recruiting principals and gaining associate members (service providers).

Jay joined Atlas Capital this spring from Time Equities, for which he ran the Manhattan office portfolio for five years. At Atlas, he manages assets and advises on property and construction management. He’s re-tenanting LIC’s Factory Building (above) as creative office space (next to Jamestown’s Falchi Building, which will become a Chelsea Market-esque destination).
