Permits Filed For Zaha Hadid-Designed Condo Project In Chelsea

The Moinian Group has filed permits for a condo project designed by the late starchitect Zaha Hadid at 220 11th Ave.

The building will be 11 stories and will have Highline frontage—the architect’s second project with that distinction. (She also designed Related Cos’ 520 West 28th St, which is nearing a wrap on construction.)

The development will clock in at 158k SF and include 23k SF for a museum of some kind, NY Yimby reports, as well as a restaurant below a total of 40 condos. Those condos will have an unusually large average unit size of more than 3k SF. Ground is scheduled to break early next year, with sales launching later in the year.

Zaha was hailed as the greatest living female architect until her sudden passing earlier this year. She was 65. [NYY]
