In 2013 Michael Bloomberg announced affordable pre-fabricated micro-units would come to 335 E 27th St in Kips Bay. That moment is finally here, and the units are being stacked as we speak. The 55-unit micro-apartment building developed by Monadnock Development was initially named My Micro NY, but has been renamed Carmel Place, and Eric Bunge's firm nARCHITECTS has designed the mini units, The Real Deal reports. The tiny apartments average 286 SF, but have 10-foot ceilings and large windows, so they'll feel more spacious. [TRD]
