HFZ Considers Designs for High Line Development

Ziel Feldman of HFZ Capital is waffling between two preliminary designs for his new development on the full-block site at 76 11th Ave, between 17th and 18th streets, reports the NY Post. BIG starchitects Rem Koolhaas and Bjarke Ingels have both submitted top secret proposals for the potential 760k SF mixed-use mega property, and both designs suggest triangular structures for optimal views. One long-range projection shows the rise of a 38-story, 400-foot tall building. Ziel is also considering cultural superstitions like the Chinese love of eights for branding the project. One certainty: he doesn’t want the buildings of the well-situated development between the High Line and the Hudson to face each other, referencing the voyeuristic Standard Hotel nearby. HFZ’s contract to purchase the former parking lot from Edison Properties for a rumored $600M to $700M is expected to close in April.
