After a 10-month search, the New York Building Congress has named Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Carlo Scissura (pictured) to the same role with the NYBC.

Richard Anderson, who served as the Congress’ president for 23 years, will become president emeritus and serve as a consultant.

Carlo has been the BCC’s president and CEO since 2012. Under his supervision, the BCC’s membership grew by more than 200%, totaling 2,100 members and becoming one of NYC’s largest economic organizations. He also helped launch initiatives like Explore Brooklyn, Brooklyn-Made and Chamber on the Go.

Before this, Carlo owned a solo practice law firm in Dyker Heights and served as Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz’s chief of staff and general counsel.
