Dennis Friedrich Resigns as Brookfield Property Partners’ Global Office CEO

In a surprise move, Dennis Friedrich (pictured, right) is stepping down as CEO of Brookfield Property Partners’ global office division on Jan. 15.

Sources say Dennis felt his role at the firm shrinking in the face of its rising complexity, the New York Post reports. “Complexity” might be an understatement.

Dennis was promoted to CEO of Brookfield Office Properties in 2012, which then became part of Brookfield Property Partners. His global office division was one of four companies that made up Brookfield Asset Management.

Dennis was with the company through thick and thin, seeing the World Financial Center turn into Brookfield Place, the launch of Manhattan West, and even overseeing Brookfield’s recovery from Hurricane Sandy. [NYP]
