NEW JERSEY SCORES
Bayer Building
It’s been an exciting week in the Garden State. Bayer HealthCarehas selected New Jersey as the new home for its consolidated East Coast business site, where it plans to have a new facility that can house regional employees from every division and function under one roof. Although a specific location hasn't been chosen, several sites near the company’s existing NJ locations (it has facilities in Wayneand Montville) are under consideration, and a final decision is expected in the next few months. (Since there's no site yet, we've included our own rendering of what we think it should look like, a laOhio's Longaberger basket building.) The company employs 2,500people in NJ and NY, and the first moves are expected to occur in late ‘11 and proceed through the end of ’13. NJ is home to 15 of the 25 largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.
I/O Data Center New Jersey
And I/O Data Centers has opened the world’s largest modular data center (830k SF) in a former New York Times printing and warehouse facility located off of Exit 10 of the New Jersey Turnpike in Edison. This is the company’s third data center; its other locations are in Phoenix and Scottsdale. UGL Services’ James Cali, who repped the tenant with UGL’s Peter Yannotta, says the complex site-selection process took two years of research and due diligence before the long-term leasing agreement was finalized and signed. JLL’s Rob Kossat repped the building’s owner, KTR Capital Partners. The new data center will provide users with immediate fiber optic connectivity from two of the largest Internet protocol backbones in the world, and is located adjacent to one of the largest power switchingstations in the Northeast.
