CBRE global sustainability head Dave Pogue joined his NY colleagues recently to host the US debut of GRESB's sustainability index. Europe's green conscience is spreading in the US, and Dave says it provides a framework for sustainable companies beyond the green elements of individual buildings.

We also snapped Clarion Partners CEO Steve Furnary, GRESB co-founder Nils Kok, USGBC's Chris Pyke, and Vornado's Sukanya Paciorek. Like GRESB, CBRE is also going after more actionable green data. The firm has launched a $1M, four-year program to fund academic or entrepreneurial research in sustainability practices in the built environment. Proposals are coming in now through the end of the year, and Phase 1 winners will be announced in Q1.
