| No, these are not the final two in American Idol. Yesterday, we hosted our first annual Washington Real Estate Summit at the Mayflower (with 725 attending), and Cushman & Wakefield chairman and CEO Bruce Mosler and Ackman-Ziff president Simon Ziff traveled down to keynote a star-studded lineup. Compared to ’07, when Simon said you could finance anything if “your felony wasn’t in the last three months,” the current climate has obviously been frozen, but a “CMBS 2.0” may be poking its head out. Bruce said office demand in Manhattan has doubled from the trough a year ago when it was just 900k SF a month and is now back up to 1.9M (the eight year average), being driven by companies trying to lock in good prices.
