REBNY president Steven Spinola paid tribute to former Downtown Alliance president Liz Berger, who died in August and whom he knows is proud of 2013's progress of turning Downtown into a contemporary mixed-use center: Silverstein's groundbreaking on the Four Seasons and delivery of 4 WTC, NJ Gov. Chris Christie's endorsement of an extension of the PATH to Newark airport, Howard Hughes' South Street Seaport revitalization, Brookfield Place's reinvention, Fulton Center, and 70 Pine's rental future, not to mention the recent sales of 195 Broadway and 101 Murray to big names. "Lower Manhattan stands tall today," he says.
