CBRE Americas brokerage prez Chris Ludeman, CBRE's Susan Soto and Laurie Gomez, CBRE NY Tri-State prez/CEO Mitch Rudin, Hartley House exec director Nicole Cicogna, and Rebuilding Together exec director Matthew Lang
Last Friday, we joined 100 CBRE professionals, who traded suits for paint-splashed jeans and joined Rebuilding Together's NYC chapter to refurbish the century-old Hartley House community center and a nearby co-op apartment in Hell's Kitchen. Here, we snapped CBRE Americas brokerage prez Chris Ludeman, CBRE's Susan Soto and Laurie Gomez, CBRE NY Tri-State prez/CEO Mitch Rudin, Hartley House exec director Nicole Cicogna, and Rebuilding Together exec director Matthew Lang as they painted and brightened up a former theater space for children's programming. The day was part of CBRE's nationwide “Get Out and Give Back” BuildMonth in September, marking the official launch of the firm's CBRE Cares Shelter Program, which focuses on providing shelter and housing to those in need.

We hear that brokerage and project management prepare you well for reading IKEA cabinet assembly instructions. Here, CBRE's Justin Aronson, Janet Goldman, Matt Jacobs, and Bruce Cohan join Rebuilding Together volunteer Frank Levy (center) in the community center's arts-and-crafts room. As the CBRE volunteers gave the after-school program areas a fresh coat of paint, installed cabinetry and shelving, and upgraded light fixtures, others repaired doors, installed a new refrigerator and couch, and painted accent walls at the nearby apartment. CB Richard Ellis Foundation's fund-matching contribution financed the $25k project, which is only one of several being completed across the US as part of BuildMonth. Over 1k CBRE professionals and 20 offices are joining Rebuilding Together, HomeAid, CBRE Shelter Program charitable partners, and Habitat for Humanity during the month.
Tahl Propp president Joseph Tahl, State Assemblyman Keith Wright, and Tahl Propp chairman Rodney Propp join Alaysia Diaz, Crystal Larrea, Mrs. Diaz, and Michael Diaz
September also marks the back-to-school season—and on Thursday, Tahl Propp Equities, one of the largest owners and operators of affordable housing in Harlem, gave away brand new red and black backpacks filled with school supplies to children living in its properties. Here, Tahl Propp president Joseph Tahl, State Assemblyman Keith Wright, and Tahl Propp chairman Rodney Propp join Alaysia Diaz, Crystal Larrea, Mrs. Diaz, and Michael Diaz. Most of Tahl Propp's buildings in Harlem are part of HUD's project-based Section 8 program, which reserves apartments for low-income housing. The after-school catered social event was held at 1775 Houses on 107 E. 126th St.
