Perkins+Will's Debra Cole, HDR CUH2A's Mary Williamson, Captivate Networks' Maureen Beirne, and Gruppo Italia's Eleanora Paulsen
The day wouldn't complete without a Cinco de Mayo celebration, so we joined the New York Businesswomen's Network for its spring fundraiser at Artsource International's Park Avenue South digs. The founders of the design-build industry group: Perkins+Will's Debra Cole, HDR CUH2A's Mary Williamson, Captivate Networks'Maureen Beirne, and Gruppo Italia's Eleanora Paulsen. This event raises money for the Virginia Moore Scholarship, an award for young college-bound women going into the design-build industry and are part of the ACE (architecture, construction management, engineering) Mentor Program, created by Charles Thornton, founding principal of Thornton Tomasetti.

Marketer Colleen Logan, JFK&M Consulting Group's Pat Hildebrandt, Marketing for Designers' Iva Kravitz, and Ellen Alpert Resources' Ellen Alpert. There's been an uptick in business in just the past three days alone, Iva says-she's hearing more buzz and excitement from the industry (and no, it's not from the sangria). Colleen has another thing to be excited about-she just successfully taught her rescue dog, goldendoodle Meatloaf, how to sit and give her a paw.

JLC Environmental Consultants' Jennifer Carey, STV's Kelly King, JV-Comm.com's Robert Bazewicz, and Topitz Design Studios' Jodi Topitz. What a busy group: Jennifer just won a contract with the Board of Education to test the air quality in NYC public schools; Kelly's working on project management; Robert's teaching clients how to adjust to future information technology connection methodologies (cheat sheet: being wired versus wireless); and Jodi, a mural painter for residential and commercial properties, is painting a backgammon board on the ceiling of a client's billiard room (but she can do anything from Renaissance to Art Deco-inspired).
