CoreNet's Women

New York
CoreNet's Women
Kirkland & Ellis' Michelle Marwood, Grubb & Ellis' Gayle Meredith, BlackRock's Shelly Bloch, and Perkins+Will's Debra Cole
Afterwards, we joined CoreNet Global NYC's new women's committee for its inaugural event at Wally Findlay Gallery on E. 57th St., where we snapped Kirkland & Ellis' Michelle Marwood, Grubb & Ellis' Gayle Meredith, BlackRock's Shelly Bloch, and Perkins+Will's Debra Cole. New York is the largest chapter of CoreNet, Gayle tells us, so it's now forming communities to bring people of similar interests together to share knowledge and network in a more manageable setting. The group will also offer opportunities for mentorship, career advancement, and promotion of women in the industry, including raising awareness of opportunities in real estate for college-age women. The group will hold its first learning event in the fall.

Perkins+Will's Sonya Dufner, Stantec's Linda Solodar, JJFD's JJ Falk, Cauldwell and Wingate's Joanne Foulke, and B.R. Fries' Diane Cramer. There's no rest for the weary this summer—everyone we talked to last night has something going on (sorry, golf courses—doesn't look like you'll be getting as much business this year). Sonya just joined the national board for the American Society of Interior Designers; Linda is working as a project management consultant for Memorial Sloan-Kettering; JJ is designing two new Ralph Lauren showrooms on Madison Ave.; Joanne's teaching two courses at CUNY Baruch on top of her construction job; and Diane's firm is completing Manhattan's first-ever Target store at 116th St. and FDR Drive, opening in July.
