| Knowledge markets—regions heavy on government, education, tech, and energy—will lead the CRE recovery, said Transwestern CEO Larry Heard yesterday at Bisnow's second Houston Breakfast & Schmooze. Good news for NYC: that's us (and Houston, DC, Boston, Raleigh/Durham, and Austin). Our Houston reporter snapped Larry (far right) with co-panelist Apartment Realty Advisors' David Oelfke and his daughter Vivian, an intern with Transwestern's marketing department. He notes that Houston and these other cities are in the midst of a significant (though âlumpyâ) capital markets recovery, but not yet a recovery of fundamentals. And more recreational markets, like Las Vegas, Phoenix, South Florida, and part of California will lag. |
