Seth D. Molod, an audit partner; Chair, Real Estate Services; and Executive Committee member at Berdon LLP, has been with the firm for more than 25 years. He has extensive experience advising some of the nation’s most prominent real estate owners, developers, managers, and investors in both commercial and residential projects. Mr. Molod works with many privately held real estate companies as well as institutional investors, REITs, and other public companies. He specializes in due diligence on large acquisitions — often on deals in the hundreds of millions of dollars; advising on restructuring and loan workout transactions; and obtaining financing for all types of projects, including traditional, mezzanine, and securitized financing.
He also has particular expertise in advising on and formulating lease arrangements and planning and structuring partnership agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and joint venture arrangements to maximize economic and tax benefits and minimize tax obligations. In addition, Mr. Molod has served as an expert in various real estate litigation matters, including partnership, lease, and expense escalation disputes.
Mr. Molod also works closely with family/owner-managed businesses in a variety of industries, including technology and professional services. His expertise includes helping clients in complying with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and with GAAP or other appropriate accounting systems. Using various procedures to identify control weaknesses as well as areas of noncompliance and risk exposure, he recommends ways to reduce risk and increase profitability by implementing and enhancing internal controls.
Mr. Molod's responsibilities include oversight of the firm's advisory practice which encompasses Litigation Support, State and Local Tax, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Family Office Services, among other areas.

Mr. Molod has moderated numerous industry panels for Bisnow, GreenPearl, and other conferences.
EDUCATION AND LICENSES:
Mr. Molod received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from Muhlenberg College. He is licensed as a certified public accountant in New Jersey and in New York.
