DC and Austin-based RideScout, launched by Army vets Joseph Kopser and Craig Cummings, is heading to the West coast to offer its transportation app in San Francisco. It will be the company’s third major city after DC and Austin. Users will use the app to find public transit options like bus, rail, ride shares, and bikes. RideScout marketing guru Rachel Charlesworth tells us the company has plans to add three more cities by June and to be in many others by fall. Since its launch in November, RideScout has seen 15% week-over-week growth in the number of people using the app regularly. Rachel says early adopters have been young, urban professionals who use every form of public, private, and social transportation offered. The long-term goal will be to let users pay for transportation fares through the app.
