Large Student Housing Owner Preiss Co. Enters JVs To Expand Portfolio

Privately held student housing owner Preiss Co. recently acquired more than 1,100 beds in two student housing communities through two different joint ventures.
The deals make the Raleigh, N.C.-based company one of the largest student housing owners in the U.S., after it added a property near Sam Houston State University and another near the University of California’s Riverside campus to its portfolio, Multi-Housing News reports. Preiss bought the properties from separate private investment groups for undisclosed amounts.
The company said it plans to upgrade both properties with faster WiFi, among other facelifts and amenities as it continues to expand across the nation.
