Target is set to hire 20 engineers and staffers for its new mysterious tech startup—code-named “Goldfish.” Led by West Stringfellow—Target’s tech disruptor-in-chief—Goldfish's purpose is still classified. However, Stringfellow hinted last fall it could eventually fold into corporate operations or spin off as a separate entity, Retail Dive reports.

Secretive tech startups are nothing new for Target—the company is one of the nation’s most tech-forward retailers, and already employs around 60 techies in its Silicon Valley offices.
