Smoothie King Plans More Than 100 New Locations This Year After Record 2024

Fast-casual health giant Smoothie King plans to expand with over 100 new locations in 2025, building off its success last year.

In 2024, Smoothie King opened 84 new stores, buoyed by a franchise record 11 store openings in December and surpassing its 2023 total of 81. The drink retailer forecasts it will open 105 new stores this year.

“Our growth in 2024 reflects the incredible commitment of our franchisees and the strength of our brand,” Smoothie King Chief Development Officer Chris Bremer said in a press release. “We've set ambitious goals for 2025 that reflect our unwavering commitment to inspiring healthy and active lifestyles in communities across the country.”

Smoothie King signed 26 new store commitments in the fourth quarter of 2024 for the upcoming year, including multi-unit agreements in markets like Atlanta, Little Rock, Arkansas, and South Bend, Indiana.

The retailer is also eyeing an expansion in Phoenix in 2025 as part of its strategic plan to grow its footprint across the Southwest, where the brand sees “significant potential for additional development,” it said in a press release.

Last year, its top markets for franchise agreements were Indianapolis which had 15, Dallas-Fort Worth with 10 and Atlanta with 7.

Chicago, which the brand says is one of its fastest-growing markets, has 10 new locations in various stages of development.

Smoothie King has over 1,200 stores across the U.S., according to its website.
