Brick-And-Mortar Retailers Are Taking A Page Out Of E-Commerce

Retailers are taking a page out of the e-commerce playbook, with 61% offering the so-called BOPIS; buy online, pick up in the store service, a Retails Systems Research/SPS Commerce report reveals.

BOPIS is becoming popular among retailers as it saves on shipping while getting customers through the door; they then make impromptu purchases while there, Retail Dive reports.

According to UPS’s 2015 Pulse of the Online Shopper report, 38% of consumers have tried a ship-to-store service, up from 35% in 2014. And there's still more room to grow.

A separate survey reveals 86% of shoppers would try BOPIS for $10 off a $50 purchase, while 76% said they would consider it to get their goods three days sooner. [RD]
