NEW HAMPSHIRE: Property Manager Adopts Bitcoin For Rent Payment

CoinTelegraph, a publication that covers the subject of cryptocurrency (a digital currency that uses encryption techniques to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank) recently interviewed different business owners who have adopted Bitcoin. One of the subjects interviewed is a property manager from Manchester, NH, who uses the currency to facilitate the rent process.

“There was a market demand for it in Manchester, and I’m intrigued by the technology," Matthew Ping says. "As a property manager, I received the request to accept Bitcoin because some of my residents get paid in Bitcoin. I want to make it easier and less expensive for my residents to pay rent on time.”

The benefit, according to Ping: He can receive these on-time payments, even when residents are traveling, without accruing additional transaction costs or waiting for a check to arrive. However, in using Bitcoin, you must make sure you're following local governmental regulations, he points out. [CT]
