Putting Skills To Good Use

Placeholder

Nearly 50 IREM members stepped away from the conference to head to Crisis Nursery, Greater Phoenix's longest-serving children's center, for some community service. After a tour of the facilities and learning about the children and families, volunteers painted fences along the playground, cleaned the pre-school's commercial kitchen, planted flowers, and completed a variety of other landscaping projects. Once they were done, members partipated in snack time and playing with the kids; one showed a few boys how to run a couple of football routes, and another couldn't leave without buying a bunch of pizzas for the kids' dinner that evening. Other members partnered with the local Greater Phoenix chapter and visited Arizona State University's Tempe campus to tell 30 undergrads and grad students about the property management career and their personal experiences.
