NYC: Getting Into the Super Bowl Spirit

Placeholder

Every night this week, Invesco and Monday Properties, in cooperation with the NFL, bathed all four sides of of its historic 230 Park Ave office building in an alternating Seahawk and Broncos-inspired LED light show. It's viewable from dusk to 2am and will wear the victorious team's colors on Sunday. (JLL Americas executive chairman Roger Staubach--the 1972 Super Bowl MVP--predicts a Broncos win; in the past 13 years, the city with the highest office vacancy has won the Lombardi Trophy 62% of the time.) 230 Park Ave's multimillion-dollar LED array includes 700 fixtures and unlimited colors.

Also showing team spirit: The Durst Org's One Bryant Park and Four Times Square (above), as well as Durst's and the Port Authority of NY & NJ's One World Trade Center. When the game begins Sunday, the spires of the former two will be lit half orange and half green. During the game, the percentage of the spire lit will be determined by who's winning and by what margin; 1WTC's spire will alternate colors until the game's conclusion. At the end, all three will don the winning team's colors. Did your building do anything to celebrate? Send amanda@bisnow.com your pics!
