Apparently everyone should move to Raleigh.
It tops a new study conducted by Adobo to find out where people are most satisfied with their rental units and where they are not so satisfied.
While price does play a factor in determining how renters feel about the area in which they live, the data showed that many other items can play a role in tenant perception. As much as people strive to live in an affordable area, they also place emphasis on quality school systems, public transportation and safe streets.
The study looked at a number of indicators in two main categories — neighborhood and home. Factors such as crime, school system, public transportation and litter as well as an overall rating of the area were taken into consideration under these two umbrellas when determining ranking. Adobo then combined these with affordability.
With a score of 275 out of 300, Raleigh, North Carolina, came out as the top ranked city overall, followed by Kansas City, Missouri, with 232 points.
Raleigh was at the top of the list in almost all of the categories with the exception of public transportation, an area that garnered only 40.7% of renter satisfaction.
It also came in second place for highest home satisfaction score with Miami taking the lead in that category despite being known for its high rent.
