Fundrise Expands With Tiger Stadium Redevelopment Project
The crowdfunding platform Fundrise will enter the Detroit market for the first time when it partners with Michigan's Larson Realty Group on a mixed-use redevelopment of the old Tiger Stadium.
Shops, restaurants, townhouses and apartments will go up on the site adjacent to Comerica Park, the Tigers' current home in Motor City's historic Corktown neighborhood, a Fundrise statement said today. The Economic Development Corporation of the City of Detroit rewarded the partnership with the project. Larson and Roxbury Group, another local developer, responded to the city's March request for proposals for the former ballfield, which has sat vacant since 1999.
