Former Cushman & Wakefield CEO John Forrester Gets A New Gig

A year after announcing his departure from Cushman & Wakefield, John Forrester will become a strategic adviser at UK-based Related Argent.

Forrester, whose 35-year tenure at C&W included a roughly 18-month stint as CEO, is taking his relationship with Related Argent to the next level after serving as a longtime adviser with the firm on its King's Cross redevelopment project, according to a news release.

“Having worked closely with many of the best people and projects throughout my career, I am delighted to now be supporting a business I have always admired and which has the ability to drive positive change for our cities and the people who live and work in them,” Forrester said in a statement.

“The UK real estate market is crying out for scale solutions from proven developers and Related Argent is without doubt the leader in that field.”

Related Argent took shape in 2015 after UK developer Argent formed a joint venture with U.S.-based Related. It has a 21M SF portfolio of UK real estate that includes office, residential, education, retail, hospital, leisure and public sector space, per the release.

King's Cross, the firm’s 67-acre mixed-use project in London, has been a massive boon for the UK economy, generating an average of more than £600M in gross added value per year as of 2017, Bisnow previously reported.

Forrester was succeeded by Michelle MacKay, who took over as chief executive in July 2023. He stayed on as strategic adviser at Cushman & Wakefield through the end of the year.
