KKR Raises $13.9B For Largest-Ever North American Buyout Fund
Private equity firm KKR & Co. just closed its most recent private equity fund after raising $13.9B.
That is the most ever raised for a North American focused buyout pool. KKR, which rivals Blackstone Group and Apollo Global Management, received $12.5B from investors and another $1.4B from employees and the firm’s own equity, Bloomberg reports. The firm said the fund will focus on minority stakes, growth investments and traditional buyouts.
KKR's last fund achieved 18% annualized returns as of Dec. 31 and was valued at 1.4 times cost. The firm recently closed its first European real estate fund last year after raising $739M and acquired the software company Epicor Software Corp. for $3.3B last July.
