Obama Administration Takes Aim at Neighborhood Diversity

Placeholder

Proposed regulations from the Obama Administration are moving forward with the hopes of helping to diversify some of America’s wealthier neighborhoods. Grant money would be used as an incentive for affordable housing in more affluent areas while also trying to upgrade poorer areas with better amenities. A final ruling from the Department of Housing and Urban Development is due out this month according to The Hill. As a requirement of qualification for some funds under the regulations, segregation patterns in neighborhoods would need to be examined and plans to address it have to be developed. The regulations would affect about 1,250 local governments[HILL]
