If you've got a wife and children, neither Hialeah nor Miami are the places you want to be, according to a study by WalletHub. Both cities rank near the bottom of the financial website's list of America's 150 most populous metro areas that are friendliest for families, with Hialeah ranking just above Detroit at No. 147, and Miami ranking just below Fresno at No. 145.

The rankings were based on data in five major categories, including family fun—which considered things like number of playgrounds per capita, walkability, weather, average commute times, water and air quality—affordability, health and safety, education and childcare, and socioeconomic and environmental factors.

While Miami ranked in the middle of the pack in most of the categories, it fell dead last in terms of affordability, which sank its overall placement. Turns out Tampa (above) is the better option if you've got kids, according to WalletHub. It ranked in 70th place, including 11th in family fun.
