East LA's Pan American National Bank is the second building in the community to be listed to the National Register of Historic Places.

The National Park Service added the building to its distinguished list this month, according to the LA Conservancy, which nominated the property.

Mexican artist José Reyes Meza created the mural, "Our Past, Our Present and Our Future," on the exterior of the bank building, the Eastsider reports.

Pan American is California's oldest Latino-owned financial institution.

Beneficial State Bank bought the property at 3624 East First St. last year.

The former Golden Gate Theatre, which is now a CVS Pharmacy, is the only other East LA site listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
