Steve Allen Theater Will Soon Be No More

The Steve Allen Theater on Hollywood Boulevard will soon be torn down to make way for a small-lot subdivision.

There are three buildings proposed for the site with single-family units and triplexes near the corner of Hollywood and Berendo Street.

The developers, PH/T&T Master One, plan to sell the 21 detached townhomes on the site, the Los Feliz Ledger reports. There would also be three live/work units and 43 parking spaces.

The Center for Inquiry-LA owns the property. The Steve Allen Theater plans to close in July.

Construction on the project should begin by the late summer or early fall, according to Pacer Holdings LLC managing partner Randy Poag. It is expected to take more than a year to build.
