Green Light for South Park High-Rise

Los Angeles Multifamily

A recession and tons of community pushback later, it looks like Amacon can finally move forward with its 28-story tower on Hope Street.

The City Council has rejected an appeal from angry neighbors over bicycle parking at the massive complex, according to LA Downtown News. The condo tower was first pitched by the Vancouver developer in 2008, but fell victim to the recession and NIMBYs. The 208-unit building is just another example of the neighborhood's renaissance, with at least three similar products completed in the last few years.
