The LA Deal Sheet

Decades in the making, the Rolling Hills Country Club finally has a new look.

The Chadmar Group and Rolling Hills Country Club completed a $125M redevelopment of the private social club and golf course at 1 Chandler Ranch Road in Rolling Hills Estates in Los Angeles’ South Bay.

The 160-acre project includes a new 18-hole golf course and 75K SF clubhouse and other upgraded amenities. Once a sand and gravel quarry, the project has been envisioned by the club and surrounding community since the early 2000s but the recession and titling to redevelop the property stalled the redevelopment.

The club, which was established in 1965, recently hosted its first major event, the Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships at Rolling Hills in April.

Scottish golf architect David McLay Kidd, who is well-known for his work designing the Castle Course in St. Andrews and others, designed the 18-hole course that overlooks the Los Angeles basin and San Gabriel Mountains.

JLL’s Project & Development Services group, led by Greg Holcomb, oversaw project management of the redevelopment. Altevers Associates was the architect.

“Our goal was to create a country club that our members found prestige in, was embraced by the community and attracted golf enthusiasts from across the United States,” Rolling Hills Country Club’s General Manager Greg Sullivan said.  “Rolling Hills Country Club blends the tradition of golf history with modern amenities and features.”
