Real estate was a mid-career switch for Suzanne, who started in public relations for the technology sector. The transition was natural for her, as she had plenty of experience working for corporate clients; she now counsels them, as well as nonprofits, on their real estate portfolios. After stints with Trammell Crow and Transwestern, she joined Cassidy Turley to help launch its LA office two and a half years ago. Among her recent deals: representing luxury fashion label VINCE on its 30k SF regional office and design studio in Hollywood; as well as repping investors in the purchase of a 76k SF office building in Burbank and a 123k SF office building in Old Town Pasadena. She says many women are dissuaded from entering commercial real estate due to its unpredictable, cyclical nature, but the industry is something that should be embraced: “You have the opportunity to forge your own destiny, which isn’t afforded in most other industries,” she says—something that she craved after the dot-com crash. She and her husband have two children, and she’s also an avid runner and cyclist.
