Goodwill's Green Service
Goodwill Southern California VP Ray Tellez tells us Goodwill is more than just retail stores. A lot of the goodwill is coming from within, staffing individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. These two groups make up about80% of the Goodwill workforce that operate the organizations green service lines, ranging from document imaging and secure shredding to landscape and custodial services. In addition, your local Goodwill team will break down your discarded electronics (e-waste) to their smallest forms so they can be properly recycled. (Remember, its illegal to toss in the trash any device that uses a cord or battery.) They can put things together, too, with packaging and assembly services to meet a range of needs. Clients include government agencies such as local Air Force bases, the IRS, large medical groups, and banks.
