Eden Project Submits Plans For On-Site Hotel

Placeholder

The Eden Project submitted plans for an £8.5M, 109-key, super-sustainable on-site hotel that will provide accommodation for visitors to big events, such as the Eden Sessions series of summer concerts, and support the project’s educational programmes with classrooms.

This is the third hotel plan submitted to Cornwall Council and is designed to blend into the countryside. The accommodation has been split into two blocks to reduce its visual impact. Local stone cladding would be used at the lower level of the buildings, and locally sourced timber poles are designed to set the main blocks into the surrounding landscape. New features, including a meadow and orchard, would be planted around the hotel.

The footprint of the building is comparable to the previously approved scheme, and although the building is taller at the northern end of the scheme, this is in a less visible part of the site.

Eden would like to start construction in late 2017 and open the hotel in April 2018.
