The Return Of Large-Scale Deals Signals Good Times Ahead For UK Capital Markets

For the last few months, headlines have warned of the impact of global fiscal policies, rising inflation and political uncertainty. While alarming, these articles are masking the improving position of the UK’s capital markets, JLL Head of Central London Office Markets Julian Sandbach said. 

The return of institutional investors and resultant larger-scale transactions to central London’s office market in particular has set 2025 up as a much stronger year for investment. 

“This is all adding increasing liquidity to the overall investor pool,” he said. “It also gives confidence to other groups such as opportunistic funds who need the certainty of an onward buyer audience to mitigate risk and to make their business plans work. As interest rates come down, we should see greater liquidity appear as real estate returns become more attractive compared to, say, fixed income.”
