Three Houston Locations To Shutter Amid Gander Mountain's Chapter 11 Filing

Last Friday, Gander Mountain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The outdoor retailer will close 32 of its underperforming stores while it seeks a buyer. The Dallas Morning News reports 10 Texas locations will close, including three in Houston. The stores at 19820 Hempstead Highway, 19890 Southwest Freeway and 13441 Westheimer Road will close, leaving the Houston area just one store in Spring at 19302 I-45.

The move has been expected after reports emerged last month that the company was meeting with financial advisory firm Lighthouse Management Group and the law firm Fredrikson & Byron PA to prepare its bankruptcy filing.
