Can Specialty Grocery Stores Boost Property Values?

A recent study of US ZIP codes finds that living near a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s will likely boost your property values. RealtyTrac analyzed data in ZIPs with at least one of the grocery stores. Homeowners near a Trader Joe’s saw an average appreciation of 40% while those near Whole Foods saw an increase of 34%, the Houston Chronicle reports. For those looking to relocate, purchasing near a Trader Joe’s seems to be a safer bet. Homes near a Trader Joe’s have an average value 5% greater than those near Whole Foods. [CHRON]
