Former Exxon Energy Corridor Campus Welcomes 18 New Tenants

Four months after Third Palm Capital announced its plan to evolve the former ExxonMobil Chemical Energy Corrdior HQ, Republic Square is experiencing a flurry of leasing activity and renovation. Eighteen tenants from diverse fields ranging from event planning to oil & gas have put pen to paper at the 35-acre campus since last September.

What's catching tenants attention? The view, for one. Boxer Property and Third Palm Capital are also redesigning the interior with coffee bars and break stations, a large updated lobby and gathering pods throughout. Plenty of work is being done outside on the campus grounds too, including improved lighting, pet stations and new signage. The biggest change was the removal of the perimeter fence left by Exxon Mobil, as well as dense undergrowth. With those gone, the property is open to the public and being embraced by area residents and nearby office workers.

What was once a closed-off corporate HQ is becoming part of the community. According to Third Palm Capital executive manager Randall Tuller, the "goal is to create an additional asset for west Houston by being a good neighbor, incorporating pedestrian-friendly connections with Terry Hershey Park, and providing a dynamic and nurturing environment."
