When Capitol Tower rises on Houston's skyline in 2019, it will be one of the greenest office towers in Houston for more than one reason. Skanska is planning a 24K SF sky park 12 stories above street level. The park will include an infinity edge, making it appear as though the park is floating in the sky. Tenants will enjoy inviting pathways, arbors and views of several Downtown landmarks.

Irrigated by Capitol Tower’s 50,000-gallon rainwater harvest cistern, the green roof at Capitol Tower also highlights Skanska’s commitment to green leadership in Houston. Pre-certified under LEED v4 Platinum, one of only four Platinum core and shell projects nationwide, Capitol Tower will use 25% less energy than typical baseline facilities.

Green office amenities are an important factor in modern design. Just this week, Brookfield Property Partners unveiled the latest green space at Allen Center. The City of Houston has pushed commercial property managers and office tenants to demonstrate green leadership through its Green Office Challenge, a friendly competition that helps tenant and landlords move toward sustainability by offering assistance with Energy Star and LEED certification.
