A yet-to-be-named hotel and conference center on the campus of Texas A&M University is in the works. The development will join the Cain parking garage at the previous site of Cain Hall. The 250K SF project will have 250 rooms, a 650-seat ballroom and approximately 28K SF of conference and meeting space. The hotel is being constructed by Gilbane Development Co. and will be operated by Benchmark Hospitality, Texas A&M University System vice chancellor for business affairs Philip Ray told The Eagle.

Ray said the hotel will offer room licenses, allowing guests to purchase the ability to have guaranteed booking for a given room over a set period of time. Naming rights for the hotel are also being offered. Ray said the university expects to be able to generate upward of $40M from the project.
