This Week's Houston Deal Sheet

Gensler's Houston team has an extra reason to be thankful this season. Earlier this week, influential Houston architect Marie Hoke joined the firm as the Houston office's leader for Arts & Culture Education.

Marie has more than 28 years of experience managing and designing education, performing arts and civic projects in Houston. Prior to joining Gensler, she ran her own practice, Team Hoke, which she began after more than 15 years at WHR Architects, leading its studio for Education and Arts. Additionally, Marie served as the senior project manager for the University of Houston’s Facilities, Planning & Construction Department. She will put her expertise as a board member of Houston's AIA chapter and Rice Design Alliance to use building up Gensler's Community sector.

HIRES/PROMOTIONS

The leasing team is led by Eric Siegrist, who, along with team members J.P. Hutcheson and Amanda Nebel, were previously employed by another large firm. Rachel Williams is also a member of the team.

Brian Edwards (above with Raleigh, who we're told is a very good girl) was promoted to senior project manager at LJA Engineering. Brian has worked for some of the largest MUDs in the Houston area, and his experience with older districts adds significant value to the work he is doing now with new developments.
