A new year means new roles and promotions. As 2020 starts, firms around Houston are bolstering their ranks.

Midway CEO Jonathan Brinsden

Jonathan Brinsden's role at Central Houston Initiative is expanding as he begins a one-year appointment as the new board chair. As CEO of Midway, Brinsden has helped shaped several high-profile developments in Houston, like CityCentre and the recently completed Buffalo Heights. Brinsden will continue to implement the 2017 Plan Downtown, a 20-year vision plan for development in Downtown.

“Every city in the world is fighting to attract and retain the best companies and talent for long-term economic vitality,” Brinsden said. “In order to compete, it’s crucial that Downtown stand out as a vibrant urban core and offer a quality of life that meets the ever-changing expectations of the modern workforce.”

Aimee Morgan joined JLL’s Valuation Advisory business as a senior vice president specializing in the appraisal of multifamily assets.

Jimmy Board joined Avison Young as a principal, managing the firm’s capital markets service line.

Gensler’s Cindy Simpson was promoted to co-regional managing principal of the South Central region, overseeing Gensler’s offices in Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

Patrinely Group announced several promotions: Patrick Higgins to chief investment officer, Brian Tierney to senior development manager and Lauren Crenshaw to senior property manager.

Harms Road Industrial Park

Finial Group, in partnership with Senterra LLC, purchased a five-building industrial park totaling 124K SF at 7204 Harms Road in Houston. JLL Capital Markets’ Trent Agnew, Charlie Strauss and Ethan Goldberg along with NAI’s Travis Land represented the seller, United Equities Inc.

Waterton acquired a three-property, 809-unit, institutional-quality multifamily portfolio in Houston. Value-add improvements are planned at all three communities: Madison on the Meadows in Stafford, Reserve by the Lake in Houston and Summerwind in Pearland.

Marcus & Millichap’s Jeff Taylor arranged the sale of Oceanway Mobile Home Park, a 750K SF manufactured home community in Baytown.

DN Commercial’s Danny Nguyen represented a group of sellers in the $1.8M listing of approximately 5.55 acres of commercial land at the hard corner of Cartwright and Brightwater in Missouri City to an undisclosed buyer.

Marcus & Millichap’s Riley Sharman arranged the sale of Deer Park Plaza, a 15K SF retail property at 1609 Center St. in Deer Park.  

DEVELOPMENT

Medistar is developing a 92-bed hospital in Clear Lake at 16850 Buccaneer Lane. Medical Behavioral Hospital of Clear Lake is scheduled to deliver in mid-2020.
