Office Transition: Create a Smoother Move
With the focus on cool Millennial workspaces, we often neglect the impact of a less glamorous scenario: office transitions spurred by acquisitions and mergers. PDR principal Kelly Baughman (here with husband Mark) and her team study the needs of transitioning organizations. Having planned over 50,000 moves for the biggest mergers in the O&G sector, including BP/Amoco, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, and ConocoPhillips/Burlington, they should know. Kelly says that, these days, clients expect white-glove transition service ensuring they're ready for work first thing the next morning. She adds that a poorly planned move leaves a bad taste in employees’ mouths and affects the way the company is perceived going forward. The solution for a successful transition: clear, mindful rules that apply to all, where merging companies act as one, not two separate entities.
