Ms. Alexander is an award-winning architectural designer committed to

improving the quality of life for those who live in the homes and neighborhoods

she helps create. Through her work she espouses her belief that community

transformation begins with understanding the community and the people who

live there. Ms. Alexander is an expert in building consensus among a wide array

of community stakeholders. She listens, learns, understands and responds to

what is important and meaningful to the people who will live, work, shop and

play in the communities and homes she designs.

the places they inhabit. Her keen awareness of the changing patterns of

society have enabled her to design housing for people of all ages, incomes and

Washington Metropolitan area on projects that have transformed not only the

lives of the people who live there, but also the surrounding communities. In many cases this means transforming urban blight into livable communities. These complex, mixed-use urban infill projects serve as catalysts for change,

Ms. Alexander is sought out by clients and colleagues for her leadership in the unique District of Columbia zoning and entitlement realm, specializing in creating real estate value for her clients through innovative design solutions that

maximize the allowable density for a site, while at the same time adding value to communities. She is frequently called upon to lead projects through the District’s complex approval process which can involve presentations to various

agencies and commissions, including Advisory Neighborhood Commissions, the Historic Preservation Review Board, the Board of Zoning Adjustment, the Commission of Fine Arts, the State Historic Preservation Office and the National

Capital Planning Commission. Ms. Alexander has recently begun to expand her expertise in entitlement processes to include projects in both Maryland and Virginia.
