Formerly head of Trammell Crow Company’s Northern California division, he has been responsible for overseeing a 5 million sf portfolio, a team of 55 professionals and has acquired and developed over $100 million in office/R&D properties.

Having completed transactions totaling over $925 million in leases, acquisitions, dispositions, development and financings, Mr. Leonard provides an extensive level of transactional and management experience, particularly with healthcare properties.

Cynthia NeSmith-Montanez, a Senior Director in MGAC’s San Francisco office, has over 37 years of experience working on a wide variety of projects, from small tenant improvements to multi-building projects. She has worked on teams big and small for medical office buildings, hospitals, biotech facilities, corporate campuses, hotel renovations, and financial institutions. Cynthia brings deep knowledge of the industry, combining practical knowledge and theoretical understanding developed from her time in both owner’s representation and as a general contractor.

Tom is based in Walnut Creek and focuses exclusively on tenant

representation, with emphasis on multi-market occupiers in the

West. Tom partners with his clients to manage their real estate

portfolios based on their evolving occupancy requirements, offering

services that include workplace and portfolio strategy, site

selection, transaction management and lease negotiations. He is

focused on building long-term relationships based on his

demonstrated ability to drive value and help his clients make

informed real estate decisions.

Experience

Tom joined JLL in 2017 after representing clients at Cushman &

Wakefield in San Francisco. Prior to joining JLL’s Walnut Creek

brokerage group, Tom was a transactions & acquisitions manager

on the Kaiser Permanente account, where he worked on site

acquisition, financial modeling, due diligence, and transaction

negotiation on behalf of Kaiser Permanente throughout Northern

California and the Pacific Northwest. Over the past seven years, Tom

has represented office and medical clients in complex real estate

transactions totaling in excess of 2m sf.

Education

Tom graduated from The University of Arizona with a Bachelor of

Science degree in Psychology, as well as minors in both Finance and

Business Administration. Tom grew up in the East Bay and remains

an active member in the community. He lives in Concord with his

wife, Erin, and their dog Otto.

Caitlin Stevenson is a project director and the Sacramento office leader for Taylor Design, a multidisciplinary design firm with a deep legacy of healthcare expertise throughout California. Her particular specialty in complex healthcare projects stems from years of experience with a wide variety of project types and scales – ranging from campus-wide master planning projects, to phased inpatient renovations within active hospital departments, to new ground-up construction, and outpatient clinic renovations. Passionate about the application of rigorous design methodology to improve the end-user experience and patient outcomes, her recent work has focused on long-range planning efforts, guiding organizations through a strategic analysis of future facility and space needs to correspond with their projected clinical growth. Caitlin’s clients include major healthcare organizations such as UC Davis Health, UCSF Health, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, Stanford Health Care, CommonSpirit Health, and the County of San Mateo Health System. A registered architect in California, Caitlin holds a degree in architecture and urban studies from Princeton University and a master’s in architecture from UC Berkeley.

Makayla Oei

Makayla began her career in the trades as a project assistant and has gained over a decade of experience. At Mark III, Makayla has held the titles of project engineer and project manager and most currently holds the title of Director of Pre-construction. Makayla is skilled in growing contractor relationships, managing virtual construction and prefabrication efforts, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Over the past seven years at Mark III, Makayla has managed over $50 million in M3 MEP and M3 Components projects.

Since 2017, her focus has been building a productized approach to healthcare construction. She has completed multiple rounds of research and development, known as Project Mountain, and has successfully completed multiple projects utilizing M3C products.

Outside work, she enjoys golfing, cooking, visiting Tahoe, attending concerts, and spending time with her partner and dogs.

He specializes in conversion and renovation projects. Dave has transformed former office and retail spaces to accommodate clinics, ranging in type, scale, and complexity from integrating a 20K sf Ambulatory Surgery Center into an office building, to a 12K sf expansion of a multi-faceted clinic in a retail strip mall. His clients include Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health as well as independent providers.

With an extensive and varied portfolio of Healthcare and HCAI work, she consistently demonstrates her expertise in handling complex, fast-paced builds that demand precision and innovation. Sara received her Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Chico State University.

Having started his healthcare architecture career in his late teens, Matt’s experience runs the gamut. From 3D visualization modeling to facility assessments to construction administration, he has worked for a variety of healthcare providers throughout California. He brings a passion for creating spaces to heal the mind and body through the application of Lean philosophy, Agile software tenets, and human-centered design to every effort on which he is involved. A founding member of the AIA-AAH Healthcare Essentials committee, he has been a speaker at Healthcare Facilities Symposium, is a certified Project Management Professional, and leads the Project Management Quality group at Taylor Design.
