As Vice President of Strategic Operations and San Diego Head, Miguel is responsible for customizing and delivering the Biocom California benefits to our San Diego members, including policy issues, as well as supporting the implementation of the organization’s strategic plans across California.

Prior to joining Biocom California, Miguel held executive positions in Fortune 500 companies, and has been chairman, president, chief executive officer, chief financial officer or chief operating officer of growth-stage, venture capital-backed companies. Miguel brings a true global perspective having led organizations in Switzerland, Spain, The Netherlands, France, Japan, Mexico and the US. Miguel received his MBA with honors from the Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands and his B.S. with honors from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.

Combining science with design, Gary has over 20 years navigating research, startups, and workflows to move companies forward. Leading launch and resident experience efforts for co-working lab veteran BioLabs, Gary has a deep history in navigating how built spaces and services drive impactful ecosystems. Gary led the conversion of 42,000 sqft of outdated office space into BioLabs’ newest incubator and graduate space which opened on the Biovista campus in late 2023. With 14 locations across the globe, Gary has a unique perspective on what makes San Diego stand apart from other cities with a rich SoCal background having served as Site Director for both San Diego and LA in previous roles.

Taryn leads manages and executes a high-level strategic life sciences plan for Connect, designed to be impactful to our unique San Diego ecosystem.

Trevor Wells, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, is an Associate Vice President and Principal in the Science + Technology practice in San Diego. With more than 25 years of architectural experience, Trevor brings expertise in the design and planning of interdisciplinary physical sciences and engineering environments, biocontainment laboratories, vivaria, cleanrooms, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. As a licensed Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional, he implements his experience in planning, interpreting, organizing, and managing projects through all phases of development, including establishing and monitoring budgets, managing the project team, and preparing schedules to ensure efficient utilization of resources. Trevor will focus on growing the firm’s life science client base and design expertise in research facilities throughout southern California. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.

An associate partner with Syska Hennessy Group, Robert manages staff and projects across the multi-discipline MEP services. Robert has extensive experience with laboratory and life sciences projects including spaces for ISO cleanroom pharma manufacturing, electron microscopy, mass spectroscopy, BSL-3 containment, NMR environments, neuropharmacology and electrophysiology. He’s worked on projects with The Scripps Research Institute, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, The Burnham Institute, Pfizer and Genentech. Robert’s depth of experience in both design and project management enhances collaboration with owners, architects, and contractors.

Ken is a respected industry professional with more than 30 years of experience in R&D strategy & operations, project management, and real estate development. Prior to joining CBRE, Ken held Director level roles at Merck, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Johnson & Johnson. In addition, he founded and served as Principal of the consulting firm BioStrategy Solutions, LLC.

Ken brings a holistic perspective to life sciences engagements, combining extensive experience in engineering and capital projects with an in-depth understanding of biopharma R&D processes and functions. Ken's design and construction management experience spans a wide variety of life sciences facility types, including laboratory; vivarium; pilot plant; chemical, pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing; and infrastructure projects. In addition, Ken has extensive experience with facility benchmarking and development of design standards. At Merck, Ken supported a multi-hundred-million-dollar annual global R&D capital plan, assuring design quality across all projects prior to final funding, as well as directly managing design teams on key projects. These projects included developing new R&D sites for Merck in Boston, San Diego and Seattle. The Seattle project, a 135,000 square-foot genomics research facility, was completed with an aggressive 9-month construction schedule and was recognized with a safety performance award from the Construction Industry Institute.

Ken’s R&D strategy and operations experience includes budgeting, resource planning, portfolio management, IT systems development, change management and strategic communications for functions such as high-throughput screening, translational medicine, clinical specimen management and clinical pharmacogenomics. His experience includes acquisition integration, divestitures, and CDMO/CRO management. His projects include a facility and operations assessment of Merck’s Vaccine Clinical Assay function and ultimate outsourcing of this function to a CRO. He has been a featured speaker at industry conferences including the Pharma IQ Biobanking Conference (London), Asia Pacific Research Ethics Conference (Singapore) and the Quorum Review Big Data and the IRB Conference (Boston).

Chris Tipre is based in San Diego, serves as Principal for Trammell Crow Company (TCC), and leads the national developer’s local expansion into San Diego. He re-established the firm’s office in the market and is responsible for overseeing the business, which currently includes three life science facilities, and three multifamily projects, which are under construction or in predevelopment. While building the team in San Diego, Chris also manages capital relationships, and works alongside brokers, architects, contractors, and consultants in the sourcing, shaping, and execution of new development projects.

Chris leads the company’s local land and deal sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, entitlements, debt and equity capital relationships, development coordination, and project leasing for life science, office, multifamily, mixed-use and industrial developments. His efforts have created a San Diego pipeline encompassing more than 1.3 million square feet of off-market development opportunities equating to over $1.1 billion in expected total project costs.

Peter Dowley was appointed Senior Vice President, Investments Lead, San Diego & Life Science at Kilroy Realty Corporation. Mr. Dowley has been primarily focused on Life Science investment opportunities throughout the Company’s portfolio since joining Kilroy in 2018.

Prior to joining Kilroy, Mr. Dowley held progressive leadership roles with Strata Equity Group, Inc., BioMed Realty, and Ernst & Young.

Mr. Dowley holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.

Derreck is the head of the Southwest region for Nuveen Real Estate’s Office focused investments. He is responsible for leading a team of talented professionals, overseeing transactions and asset management on the 9 million sq. ft. office portfolio.

Prior to joining Nuveen Real Estate in 2019, Derreck was a Director at HFF where he was involved in over $2.4 billion in transactions as an investment advisor focused in Southern California and Arizona . Derreck previously held positions at Opus West and Marshall Property and Development where he was focused on all aspects of both companies business including acquisitions, development, and asset management. Derreck holds a B.S. with a concentration in real estate finance and development from The University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Eric Paulsen serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Kidder Mathews, where he oversees operations across the firm’s 19 offices. Since joining Kidder Mathews in 2021, he has been a driving force behind the company’s growth and expansion as the largest fully independent commercial real estate firm in the Western U.S.

Eric’s leadership journey with Kidder Mathews began as Regional President for Southern California and Arizona Brokerage, later serving as President of Brokerage before being promoted to COO. In these roles, he led strategic recruitment efforts and expanded the firm’s market presence.

Ben Pouladian is a noted electrical engineer, entrepreneur, and biotech investor whose personal experiences have profoundly shaped his career trajectory.

Ben began his professional journey at the University of California, San Diego, where he studied Electrical Engineering. Harnessing his knowledge and skills, he founded an LED lighting company in 2005, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit. His leadership and innovative approach led the company to success, and he sold it in 2019.

However, his professional focus underwent a significant shift following personal tragedy. Ben lost his father to liver cancer and his mother to non-small cell lung cancer. His mother's difficulty accessing necessary medication from a New York-based pharmaceutical company opened his eyes to a glaring problem within the LA Life Science Market - a dearth of adequate lab space. This realization sparked a new passion and purpose in him.

Maurizio Vecchione serves as the Chief Innovation Officer of the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation. He is moved by a vision that access to effective and quality healthcare is a human right and critical to equity and progress around the world.

He is also jointly serving as the CEO of Washington Global Health Alliance, a non-profit organization that plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among leading global health institutions.

Maurizio has spent the last 30 years at the forefront of biomedicine in global and public health, focusing on innovation to improve the lives of the world’s most vulnerable people. From 2014 until 2020, he was the executive vice president for Global Good and Research at Intellectual Ventures (IV) where he oversaw collaboration with Bill Gates to invent and deploy technology to address some of humanity’s most daunting challenges. He simultaneously managed the Global Good Fund, the research programs of the Intellectual Ventures Laboratory and the Institute for Disease Modeling.

Maurizio has built companies and global alliances for breakthrough programs in women’s health, infectious disease prevention and elimination, primary care, and chronic disease management as well as cancer. He has been a pioneer of the use of Artificial Intelligence in medical applications, including being involved in breakthroughs in cervical cancer screening through machine learning as well as automatic interpretation of ultrasound images via AI. He serves on the Leadership Board of the University of Washington Department of Global Health and the Advisory Board of the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center; he is on the governing board of the Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation; on the Advisory Board of the Performance Theater; the editorial Board of IEEE Spectrum; an Advisor to Bill Gate’s private office Gates Ventures; an executive partner in Ethos Capital. He also has been from time to time an advisor to the US Government, the EU and multilateral organizations such as WHO and UNICEF in matters of innovation and population health.

Jeff Graham is Executive Director - Real Estate at UC San Diego. Jeff’s department at the university oversees all on-campus and off-campus leasing of more than 1.5 million square feet of office, clinical, research, retail, and educational space as well as all real estate development through public-private partnerships. Mr. Graham and his staff also negotiate and implement all license agreements, property acquisitions and dispositions, ground leases, feasibility studies, and the campus regional transportation projects.

He has an extensive and successful track record in real estate negotiations and transaction structuring, organizational leadership, urban redevelopment and urban planning. Previously he has served as a Senior Vice President for Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a global strategic real estate consulting firm, in its Public Institutions consulting practice group.  Prior to his tenure at JLL, Jeff worked for nearly seven years at Civic San Diego, a community redevelopment, economic development, and planning agency. There he held the position of Vice President, Redevelopment and later held the position of President.

Mr. Graham was also a Real Estate investment and development professional with Gafcon, Inc., The Guidant Group, Pacwest Group, and Rancon Financial Corporation. In each of these roles he provided economic, fiscal and strategic guidance to public and private sector clients investing in or developing urban real estate and infrastructure. Mr. Graham received his Master's in Business Administration, International Business from San Diego State University.

Rosalio serves as Vice President and Market Executive for Wexford Science & Technology and is

responsible for developing and executing life science projects in the Western United States. With

experience in commercial and multifamily real estate development, architectural design, and

construction management, Rosalio brings a wealth of knowledge to leasing, acquisitions, budgeting, due

diligence, environmental remediation, entitlements, sustainable design, and permitting.

Before joining Wexford, Rosalio oversaw Boos Development Group’s Western division operations as a

Vice President of Development and Construction. Over his career, he has developed over 2.5 million

square feet of commercial projects and managed development teams and company divisions in the

western US. Previously, he worked as an architectural designer for HOK in the Culver City, CA office and

Fragoso Construction as a project manager in the Chicago region.

He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois Chicago and Master of

Architecture from the University of California Los Angeles. He also attended the Ross Minority Program

in Real Estate at the University of Southern California. In addition, Rosalio has the LEED AP accreditation

from US Green Building Council and holds a CA Real Estate License.

Sara Carmody is the Regional Manager of Hathaway Dinwiddie’s Northern California region, bringing over 25 years of experience in planning and constructing life science facilities and has been instrumental in the delivery of more than 10 million square feet of life science spaces in California. Her expertise in projects ranges from life science campuses to complex interiors and having shaped and advocated for an internal Northern California Life Science Strategy early in her career, which targeted key clients, promoted strong relationships, and the assembly of the very best and experienced teams. Sara helped establish Hathaway Dinwiddie’s San Diego office by expanding Southern California operations beyond the Los Angeles basin and Orange County into San Diego by building on long standing industry relationships and providing a consistent and high level of services. Sara was honored as Building Design + Construction’s 40 under 40 and a Most Influential Woman in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times. Hathaway Dinwiddie is a privately held corporation, established in 1911, with focus primarily in California, where services provided include preconstruction and construction services for many sectors including commercial, hospitality, higher education, cultural, tenant improvements and renovations along with life science.

Julie Kilpatrick is a Senior Managing Director for CBRE’s Project Management Advisory team for the West Region, overseeing operations and teams in Southern California, Arizona and Hawaii. Ms. Kilpatrick brings over 25 years of expertise to CBRE, with experience in leading, managing and delivering complex real estate projects. Her expertise encompasses a diverse range of specialties, including leading acquisitions, valuations, appraisals, entitlements, zoning changes, space lease and ground lease negotiations, design management, construction management and administration, budgeting/financing, asset management, and capital program & portfolio facilities management for both large global Fortune 500 companies all the way down to start-up’s and privately held growing companies across a diverse sector of asset classes including ground up, redevelopment, major infrastructure, office, life science/research, labs, academic buildings, retail, hospitality, industrial, performance venues, medical office buildings including OSPHD/HCAI, and multi-family.

Prior to joining CBRE, Ms. Kilpatrick served as the Director of Real Estate, Acquisitions & Public-Private Partnerships (P3) for the University of California San Diego. In this role, she was responsible for managing over $5 billion in P3 development over a 10 year capital plan including overseeing the University's new investment portfolio of off-campus properties totaling 600,000SF and collaborating closely with prominent UC San Diego institutions such as the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, the Natural Reserves System and UC San Diego Health. Ms. Kilpatrick led large-scale real estate projects that played a vital role in UC San Diego Health's ambitious $4 billion redevelopment of the Hillcrest Campus and the UC San Diego Blue Line Trolley. Her contributions significantly improved access to faculty, visitors students and quality patient care for residents throughout the region.

Ms. Kilpatrick began her career, and spent nearly two decades, at JLL’s Project Development Services group and was a Senior Vice President leading the Southwest Region, based in San Diego. Ms. Kilpatrick was named a Top Performer at JLL every year since 2003, excelling at client service and operational excellence. She received the company's coveted DaVinci Award—the highest honor awarded to professionals in Project and Development Services—for being instrumental in the development and execution of a single currency procurement program for the firm's multi-national global clients located across 5 continents.

Peter Fritz serves as Managing Director, San Diego, for Longfellow Real Estate Partners, the largest privately held investor, operator, and developer of life science real estate. In this role, he sets and executes the strategy for continued growth and operations in the San Diego region alongside Longfellow's executive leadership. Prior to joining Longfellow, Peter was Vice President at Project Management Advisors Inc. where he oversaw the delivery of over 2 million square feet of life science, commercial office, and retail development.

Peter received his MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a BS in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University.

Gregg Walker is responsible for overseeing DivcoWest’s asset management group, which includes managing the leasing strategy throughout the U.S. for all DivcoWest Clients. Gregg works closely with the CEO on developing new strategic relationships across the country. In addition, Gregg is a member of DivcoWest’s Investment and Executive Committees.

Before joining DivcoWest in 2019, Gregg worked as a leasing broker for over 19 years, most recently as a Managing Director for JLL in Silicon Valley, with a particular focus on Life Science and Technology companies. He is a member of CoreNet Global and received his Bachelor of Political Science from the University of Oregon.

Mr. Farrell joined Blue Rise Ventures via Local Capital Group in May 2019 and currently acts as a Partner, responsible for leasing, asset management, and acquisitions. Prior to joining Blue Rise, Mr. Farrell spent three years at Terreno Realty Corporation as an acquisitions and asset management associate. During his time at Terreno, he completed 24 transactions totaling over $350 million. He also oversaw operations, leasing, and construction management for a 5 million square foot industrial portfolio. Mr. Farrell received a BBA in both Real Estate and Finance from the University of San Diego. He currently lives in San Francisco and enjoys cycling and playing soccer.

As an Executive Managing Director with JLL’s San Diego office, Grant Schoneman focuses on lease and sales transactions with a concentration in the life sciences sector. Since 2007, he has actively worked with some of San Diego’s strongest biotechnology tenants and landlords. Grant’s intimate knowledge of the San Diego life sciences community and his attention to detail give him key insight into market trends that enable him to provide valuable guidance to his clients. He is an active member of JLL’s global life sciences practice group, giving him a national and global perspective of the sector.

Allan S. Glass is a Co-Founder and Principal at HATCHspaces LLC. With 25 years of brokerage, redevelopment and consulting experience, Allan has worked through three full market cycles advising private equity funds, developers, banks, non profit institutions, private landowners and real estate investors across the country. He has extensive expertise in areas of distressed assets and value added development utilizing in-depth knowledge of structuring and unwinding complex ownership and finance arrangements. His experience crosses multiple product types in both the commercial and residential markets.

Sonia joined King Street in 2021 with over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate and finance. As Managing Director and West Region Market Leader, she is responsible for overseeing the firm’s activities in the Western United States. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration and B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.

Tom Lam is a Principal of Luminous Capital Management, a life science real estate investment management firm based in Irvine, CA. Tom’s primary responsibilities include acquisitions, due diligence, and capital raising. Over his 17-year career in commercial real estate, he has invested over $1 billion across multiple asset types and major Western markets on behalf of institutional and high net worth investors. Prior to Luminous, Tom has worked at firms such as Boardwalk Investments Group, Buchanan Street Partners, and Emmes Group. Mr. Lam graduated with an MBA and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California in 2014. He is an active member of NAIOP.

Steven Ryder is a proven leader, managing and designing projects ranging from urban design and master

planning to architectural design and construction realization. With over 40 years of experience, he has

spent the majority of his career in the San Francisco and Los Angeles/San Diego markets. In addition, his

extensive experience delivering award-winning projects extends across the Pacific Rim, highlighted by

numerous publications and five AIA awards. As a result, Steven brings an international perspective to

real estate development with expertise spanning strategic planning, entitlements, architectural design,

programming, asset management, real estate development, P3 partnerships, design-build delivery, and

design competitions.

For most of his career, Steven has provided design leadership to real estate developers, international

clients seeking design excellence and innovation, corporate and academic campuses, and domestic and

international builders. He believes it takes great, visionary clients to develop great projects and a strong

understanding and command of the process to optimize results. His award-winning results have been an

acknowledgment of his success in leading added value results.

With over 30 years of industry experience and 3 million sq. ft. of life science projects completed, Jamie Prevost leads Skyline's Life Science practice area. Jamie leverages his expertise to assist clients during the due diligence process by providing strategic and collaborative preconstruction insight. Since the early 2000’s, Jamie has led the construction of 60+ labs and over a dozen adaptive re-use projects. During his leadership of San Diego based Prevost Construction, Jamie grew revenues from $10million to $100M before being acquired by Skyline Construction in 2022. With offices in San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and now San Diego, Jamie leverages established project teams and existing customer relationships to serve the surging demand for life science construction expertise. With his knowledge of the unique constraints associated with adaptive reuse and traditional life science tenant improvements, clients often lean on Jamie and his team for feasibility studies during the site selection process to provide reliable cost and scheduling information for major redevelopment efforts. With an emphasis on lean construction techniques and a partnership mindset, project teams under Jamie’s leadership deliver superior results with an emphasis on providing a best-in-class customer experience.

Greg McClure, LEED AP BD+C, with more than 20 years of architectural experience, leads Delawie’s

Science + Technology market sector as a Principal of the firm. McClure is one of the region’s leaders in

sustainability working on projects of various types and sizes, including several large commercial projects

in Southern California. He has experience designing for and working with multiple developers, including:

Sterling Bay West, BioMed Realty, BioScience Properties and Lincoln Properties. In addition, McClure

leads Delawie design teams through numerous tenant laboratory projects for clients such as BioLegend,

Revvity, Illumnia, Exagen, Encodia and Nitto Denko. McClure also leads Delawie projects for higher

education clients bringing industry best practices to the area’s colleges and universities. A licensed

architect in California and North Carolina, McClure has a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech.

A graduate of Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo, David formed McCullough Landscape Architecture as a sole proprietorship in 1999 while consulting for another firm. After wife and partner, Catherine joined the business in 2001 and became Chief Executive Officer and President in 2002; the firm became a woman-owned corporation and a certified Small Business by the State of California.

With offices in San Diego and the Bay Area, McCullough creates spaces for hospitality, retail, mixed-use and institutional properties around the world. As principal landscape architect, David oversees all aspects of the design and production of firm projects at McCullough. He serves as head designer on all projects and maintains quality control on all work completed. Previous projects have earned awards and recognition in several national publications.

David finds time in his schedule to take leadership in creative organizations such as the the San Diego Architecture Foundation (SDAF) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) local Urban Design Committee. He currently serves as Chair of the Pecha Kucha Night program, which is on its sixth successful year. He finds it inspiring to take part in such a diverse mix of creative minds while bringing them together to share with the public their wild ideas.

In addition, recently David was appointed by San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer to serve on the Historical Resources Board as Chair, which governs the identification, protection, retention and preservation of historical sites in San Diego. Concurrently, he has been invited to serve on the city’s Code Monitoring Team (CMT).

David’s design philosophy is centered around merging context and creative passion with grit, soul, and style. Sach manages Sterling Bay's acquisitions, development, and portfolio management in markets west of Denver. He has facilitated over $7 billion in real estate transactions throughout his career, covering nearly 20 million SF across markets in the West. Sach spent 17 years at JLL, where he served as Senior Director. He holds a Master's in Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor's in Finance from San Diego State University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and an active member of the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Sara Andersen is Director of Real Estate Management, part of Workplace Effectiveness at Genentech, the organization responsible for ensuring the work environments support desired business outcomes for the business units at Genentech’s South San Francisco site and beyond.

Sara’s role at Genentech allows her to exercise her passion for providing healthy, sustainable, financially performing environments which allow people to do their best work. As a Real Estate and Financial services professional with more than 25 years of experience, she has focused on setting overall business strategy for her group, running business units, building relationships and developing cross functional teams.

Her engagement with Genentech began in 2012, through design (Perkins + Will) and program management (CBRE), which resulted in Genentech’s most successful building to date. The building is a success because of the emphasis on the social engagement of the employees, user friendly technology that allows a “work anywhere” philosophy, and a healthy and sustainable work environment. Her ongoing work focuses on using workplace to support business initiatives, measuring success in faster time to market vs. square foot per person..

Prior to joining Genentech as an employee, she led the CBRE Occupier Strategy team in San Francisco, translating client business objectives into real estate strategy, informing lease sizes, terms and execution. She led vision sessions with senior executives to align goals across business units, spearheaded the development of solution scenarios with client and brokerage partners and ensured successful project delivery through strategic planning, design process, budget and schedule management, and the integration of IT, HR and communications.

Prior to CBRE, Sara held positions as a Principal, Director of West Coast Interiors for Perkins + Will; Managing Director (Atlas Capital Strategies); and ran her own project management practice with clients such as SAP Labs and TD Waterhouse.

Sara is educated and licensed as an architect, her education includes a Masters in Architecture from Washington University with an undergraduate degree from Lehigh University in Architecture and Computer Science. She was honored as a Northern California Real Estate Woman of Influence by the San Francisco Business Times and has spoken at both CoreNet and NeoCon.

Yohan has been the chief strategist in the growth of Mispro’s contract vivarium network to a robust multi-location entity, with facilities in every major US biotech hub. Recognized by today’s leading life sciences real estate developers as an innovator, visionary, and partner in bringing research ready vivarium lab space to the market, Yohan offers a unique perspective on the intersection of real estate development and scientific discovery.

Throughout his 30+year career, Joe has approached architecture as a means to explore new frontiers, provide environmental stewardship, and foster connections with communities. Life science, his current focus, is closely linked to these objectives.

Joe joined SGA in October 2020 because he was impressed with the quality of the firm’s design innovation, its commitment to excellence, and the level of talent exhibited by the staff. In his new role, he oversees several projects for life science organizations in the Boston region. He establishes the design vision for these commissions, but also collaborates on their execution. Joe’s previous experience encompasses a variety of building types, including research,

hospitality, healthcare, residential, corporate, and mixed-use. During his tenures at design firms HDR and TRO Jung|Brannen, he led many award-winning projects honored by such organizations as the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and Preservation Massachusetts. Early in his career, he won the Rotch Traveling Scholarship, an annual two-stage design competition that enabled him to travel overseas for a year to study architecture.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Minnesota. One of his favorite activities outside of the office is traveling internationally to learn about local ecosystems. He also sketches regularly, often exhibiting his work at events. Other hobbies include cycling, gardening, and beekeeping. He observes:

“Pollinators are key to the ecosystem. Beekeeping and gardening allow me to engage in stewardship of the environment, and several of my hobbies allow me to explore and discover advances in the built world. I don’t leave my passion at work.”

Stan works closely with both the field and office personnel in the construction industry to help alleviate their pain points associated with tracking jobsite progress through the use of technology.

Leveraging his unique experience, which includes running his own residential painting business in college to working as a project engineer for large commercial GC’s such as Turner and Kitchell and then transitioning to the construction tech scene by working for companies such as Bluebeam, Raken, and now Doxel gives him a holistic view on how all aspects of a business (sales, marketing, product, engineering, and customer success) come together to provide value for clients.

Stan truly believes that if technology is to be widely adopted at the jobsite or at any company, tech companies need to have strong empathy for the needs of the end-users so that they can help create simple, yet powerful tools that will not only help improve the bottom line but also improve the lives of the workers.

Stan holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCSD and is also a LEED AP. He serves his community as a mentor in the ACE program that helps high school students learn about the AEC industry and was also honored as Big Brother of the Year in 2013.
