The Hodgson Company is a Sacramento based real estate development, land use and government advocacy firm which specializes in the entitlement and development of real estate and land use projects throughout Northern California. The Hodgson Company has been involved in some of the area’s most innovative residential and commercial developments, including master planned communities, infill development and mixed-use projects. More recently their focus has been on revitalization and mixed used development in the urban centers of the region.

John Hodgson is active in both civic and volunteer organizations. He is a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and past Chair of the ULI Sacramento District Council. He was appointed by Governor Pete Wilson and served six years as the Chair of the Capitol Area Development Authority (CADA). In his capacity as CADA chair he is credited with contributing to the revitalization of midtown Sacramento.

John currently serves as a Board member of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership and serves on its Governance Committee. He also serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Midtown Association. He served several terms as Chair of the Sacramento Council of the North State Building Industry Association and currently serves as Chair of its Urban Infill Group focused on Sacramento downtown and midtown mixed-use development. John is a member of the State Bar of California. He is a graduate of UC Davis and King Hall (UC Davis School of Law).

Marisa Kolokotronis is the Senior Vice President for SKK Developments managing overall operations and project development strategy. She is responsible for executing as the liaison between project stakeholders including ownership, general contractors, architects, and design consultants, and City officials and staff. Prior to joining the family business, Marisa worked for our partners, The Grupe Company, as Project Manager to three of our joint ventures; Q19 Midtown, H16 Apartments, and Eleanor Apartments. She received her BA in Urban Studies from Brown University.

From her early beginnings in the affordable housing sector to her leadership roles today, Katherine McFadden has consistently exemplified commitment and expertise. Beginning her journey in 1995, Katherine embarked on her career at the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (TCAC) in Sacramento. As temporary staff, she was instrumental in assisting the TCAC staff, management, and applicants with both 4% and 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit Applications, in addition to handling Compliance Reporting.

Fast forward to today, and Katherine now leads as the Vice President for Northern California at Jamboree Housing, a pivotal role in one of the region's premier endeavors to provide unparalleled affordable housing and vital services. Her career tapestry is woven with varied experiences, each adding depth to her understanding of housing sectors.

At Jamboree, Katherine not only shapes strategic directions but also plays an integral role in developing, financing, and managing affordable housing initiatives across Northern California. Her deep-seated understanding of housing finance intricacies combined with strategic vision ensures the seamless realization of housing projects.

Her tenure as Vice President of Housing Development at Domus Development bore witness to her unmatched proficiency. Here, she was central to the development and financing of nine significant affordable housing properties throughout California, collectively valued at $225 million. Yet, this wasn't her inaugural large-scale initiative. During her tenure as the Finance Director for USA Properties Fund, Inc., Katherine orchestrated a remarkable $500 million in debt and equity financing, spearheading the development of over 6,000 multifamily rental housing units across California and Nevada.

Her efforts with CalHFA rejuvenated and expanded affordable housing portfolios statewide, while her role at SHRA catalyzed significant affordable housing ventures that culminated in an impressive $85 million in funding. At SHRA, Katherine worked closely with Jamboree on the renovation of the Hotel Berry which is one of her most rewarding affordable housing projects to date, With contributions to non-profit entities like the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) and LIFESTEPS, and her for-profit experiences, Katherine presents a holistic and comprehensive approach to housing development.

A graduate of Westmont College, Katherine further enhanced her academic credentials with Pre-MBA coursework from California State University Sacramento. Her commitment to sustainability is evident from her certification as a Green Building Professional from Build It Green. Outside of work, Katherine enjoys cooking, music, art and watching her youngest son play baseball.

In the evolving domain of housing, Katherine McFadden remains a paradigm of expertise and dedication, synergizing her extensive public and private experiences to ensure Northern California's residents have unfettered access to quality, affordable housing.

Darrin has two decades of experience in the construction industry and leads all construction operations for West Sacramento-based Brown Construction, Inc.—one of the Sacramento area’s largest and most experienced general contracting firms now in its 60th year in business. A graduate of Sacramento State’s Construction Management program, Darrin has spent the last 20 years with Brown, primarily in the field managing large multifamily and higher education projects. Darrin is an expert at multifamily and higher education construction.

Darrin is on the boards of directors for of the Construction Industry Education Foundation and the Sacramento Construction Management Education Foundation (SCMEF). Darrin also volunteers as a coach for the Sacramento State University Mixed-use Project Team for the Associated Schools of Construction annual Construction Management Competition.

For 25 years, Renner Johnston, has been a leader in sustainability and committed to excellence in design. He holds degrees in philosophy and architecture. He was recently named President of Mogavero Architects, an award-winning firm in Midtown Sacramento. He has designed thousands of multifamily residences and many mixed-use buildings. For many years, he taught “Green Architecture” for UC Davis Extension. He is a member of the AIA, recently served as a mentor for ULI’s Young Leaders Group and loves riding “gravel” on the weekends.

Tim Schaedler serves as a partner with Panattoni Development

Company, one of the largest private industrial real estate

development companies in the United States and Europe. Tim is

responsible for the company’s development operations and

investment decisions in the Northern California and Nevada

markets. As partner, Tim oversees all aspects of development of

office, industrial and retail projects as well as the supervision of

staff personnel in three offices within the region. He manages

underwriting investments, due diligence, arranging financing,

development entitlements, architectural design, construction

budgets, lease negotiations and dispositions. Tim has more than

23 years of experience in land entitlement, development,

construction and leasing of office and industrial projects.

Over the past two decades, Tim has developed more than $1.5

billion of speculative and build to suit projects for Santa Clara

County, Sacramento County, Nationwide Insurance, San

Joaquin County, Berlin Packaging, Southern Wine and Spirits,

Amazon, Dignity Health, BMW, Volvo, FedEx, JFC International,

Loomis Armored, Facebook, Allogene Therapeutics, McKesson

Corporation, Home Depot and Restaurant Depot.

In addition to his role at Panattoni, Tim serves on the Board of

Directors for NAIOP, Sacramento Central Valley.

Currently in Northern California, Southern Nevada and

Northern Nevada, Panattoni Development Company has more

than ten million square feet planned on more than 600 acres

with a value of over $1.5 billion.

George Condon

Partner, West Region

Dermody Properties

George Condon is West Region Partner of Dermody Properties and is responsible for the company’s regional portfolio as well as new industrial speculative and build-to-suit projects, acquisitions and dispositions in Northern California.

Mr. Condon was previously the Principal and Founder of Sponsor Properties. He has developed more than 20 million square feet in Northern California during the last 20 years. He also served as Senior Development Manager with Panattoni Development Company and Property Manager with Hogland, Bogart + Bertero.

He has extensive experience in industrial development from land acquisition to project completion. His specialties include deal sourcing, due diligence, development/repositioning, team selection, project design and budgeting, proforma and DCF development, equity and debt offerings, land acquisition, entitlements, permits, project management, marketing, leasing, tenant improvements and disposition.

Mr. Condon received his bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Davis.

Denton Kelley is a Managing Principal of LDK Ventures, LLC, an entity formed with his father, Larry Kelley, with a focus on value-add real estate acquisition and development opportunities in the Western Region of the US. Mr. Kelley is responsible for identifying and executing new real estate investment opportunities. Mr. Kelley is also responsible for sourcing equity capital requirements for all LDK acquisition and development projects. Mr. Kelley is currently an owner in McClellan Business Park.

Prior to joining LDK Ventures, LLC, Mr. Kelley worked as an equity research analyst at Bessent Capital (a global macro hedge fund in New York) covering financials, real estate, health care and other diversified industry sectors. Mr. Kelley worked directly with Scott Bessent, the current CIO of Soros Fund Management. Mr. Kelly spent 3 years at Robertson Stephens in the Investment Banking Division where was promoted to Associate from Analyst. The first year was dedicated to the real estate sector and he then spent the next two years banking the semiconductor and technology industries working on multiple IPO's, follow-on offerings and various other corporate finance deals. Prior to Robertson, he worked for Prentiss Properties, LLC. (an office REIT based in Dallas, TX) as an acquisition and development analyst and was also partly responsible for the asset management of the 2 million square feet office/industrial portfolio in the Southwestern US.

Mr. Kelley received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was a scholarship athlete during his collegiate tenure on the track and field team.

Dr. Venkat has over 25 years of experience in managing technology development, working in the semiconductor and battery industries with companies like Cyprus Semiconductor, Infineon, and Reliance New Energy. During his tenure at Reliance New Energy, Dr. Venkat worked to set up CAM manufacturing plants in Asia. Dr. Venkat has a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Southern California and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Venkat is excited to bring his battery industry knowledge to the Sacramento region with Sparkz.
